Phoenix Heroes HAWK FARM PROJECTS
Hawk Farm and Phoenix Heroes have come together to deliver some life changing long term projects that will benefit their students and our veteran community. Please follow our progress and if you think you can help us in anyway then please contact us.
Hawk Farm supports vulnerable adults with learning difficulties and is run by a veteran family Clare and Darren who is a former 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment soldier and he is looking forward to expanding the support to our veterans.
Hawk Farm is set in over 70 acres of Essex countryside within a stunning complex and access to its own carp fishing lake makes it the ideal place to deliver the outdoor activity days and projects that we are pursuing.
Families
Almost nearly 5 years ago we held our first veterans families day at Hawk Farm, it is a beautiful place and they do some fantastic work with their students.
Clare
Clare is the expert when it comes to working with horses and people, she oozes with passion and is dedicated to helping others, both Clare and Darren are remarkable individuals.
OUR PROJECTS
Project One Rabbit Enclosure
We have built a large enclosure for the rabbits and it looks amazing. The area is now accessible for everyone to enjoy the company of these little fury characters.
Project Two Agriculture
We have made some fantastic progress with the agricultural area and built a large poly-tunnel and raised planter beds that are accessible for all students.
Project Three Community Area
We are turning two large indoor areas into a sports area, agriculture food preparation area and a recreational community space for the students.
Project Four Pear Orchard
The pear orchard has hundreds of trees and the students make a range of food items during harvest. We want to make them a preparation station so they can take this to the next level.
Project Five Fishing Lake
Back in 2019 the British Disabled Angling Association funded a fishing platform. As a Disability Confident Leader, we now want to make the lake accessible and inclusive for everyone.
Project Six Farm Shop
We want to give the Hawk Farm students a chance to showcase all the good work that they are doing and provide a shop front for them to sell their food from the agriculture and pear orchard projects.
