Hello guest
Your basket is empty
Phoenix Heroes now approaches its 5th year, we have achieved so much over the last 6 months and we continue to become stronger each day. Let us start with the new projects that we launched and how they are benefiting many of our veterans and their families.
Hero Carp Project
Our Hero Carp project was launched last year with the help of Sale Waterpark, Aquaculture Equipment Ltd and VS Fisheries. This project allowed our veterans to name a carp fish in memory of a loved one, the fish were kindly provided by Aquaculture Equip Ltd and VS Fisheries and Sale Waterpark in Manchester was the chosen venue to carry out the fish stocking. Our first fish named was after Pte Lee Ellis, former 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment who sadly lost his life on operational duties in Iraq. We had the honor of inviting his sister, Samantha Ellis to place "Ellis" in Sale Waterpark. We have a number of fish currently being named now and the portfolio will be passed to Sale Waterpark so they can record future catch reports, Ellis has been out a few times now and is gaining weight which is brilliant.

Projects

Tackle 4 Heroes Project Veteran Carp Angling

As an incentive to support more veterans and their families under our fishing projects we launched Tackle 4 Heroes and received many fishing tackle donations from the public and businesses. This project has now gone National and has helped many people to start fishing all across the UK. This project continues to grow at pace and we now have 5 storage locations in support but we need more! If you would like to support this project then please visit our website link below.

Hawk Farm Project Community Projects

We have been working with Hawk Farm now for a few years and we really want to take this project to another level. Over the coming weeks we are doing a fundraising campaign to try and secure funding for a number of projects that will benefit our veterans and families and the service users at the farm. If you would like to help us achieve this then please visit the donation link below.

Veteran Carp Angling Club (VCAC)

Having launched our fishing community during COVID we never imagined that we would be seeing the results and outcomes that we are witnessing on a daily basis. We are growing at pace and working on a National scale, with our members stretching across all regions of the UK. We are receiving referrals from many mainstream charity organisations which is a sign that we have got this right.

With the support of the public, businesses, grants, fisheries and our members we have managed to hold fishing events every month and are now filling up the diary for 2023.

"Buddy Buddy" Fishing Projects

Many of our veterans have sustained injuries preventing them from travelling and taking part in our events. As a disability Confident Employer we are working hard to make our events inclusive for all and it is within our community that everyone is helping each other. We want to enhance this part of our service delivery and looking at ways that we can develop this.

Memberships and Affiliations

We are focused on aligning with the governing bodies and organisations within the sector that we are in, this is a sign that we are here for the long term and serious about the way that we deliver our support services in a professional manner.
